During these days, our English classes fill up with pumpkins, ghosts, and trick or treat! 🎃Students learn new words and common expressions while enjoying interactive activities such as:

🎃 Halloween Word Hunt: find hidden objects and name them in English.
🗣️ Spooky Story Time: create short scary stories in English.
💀 Costume Parade: describe costumes and vote for the most creative ones.
✍️ Halloween Vocabulary Challenge: a fun way to discover new words.

These activities turn learning into a memorable and enjoyable experience, helping students use English naturally while having fun.

🌰 La Castanyada: our local autumn tradition

But at A+, we also love to honor and share our own Catalan traditions. La Castanyada is a popular festivity celebrated on the night of October 31st, around All Saints’ Day.

It’s a time to gather with family or friends and enjoy:

🌰 Roasted chestnuts
🎃 Panellets (small sweet almond cakes)
🍠 Baked sweet potatoes
🍷 And for adults, a little muscatel wine!

In class, we take this opportunity to talk about cultural traditions in Catalonia and around the world, comparing how Halloween is celebrated in English-speaking countries and how we enjoy La Castanyada here. This helps students open their minds and learn about different cultures while staying proud of their own roots.
